Diet (because you're fat)

A couple very loose sketchbook pages which i actually really like and show the idea i'm going to pursue next. I really want to screen print on to some t-shirts (which i've never done before) 'Diet-beacuse you're fat' using the diet coke font and on small sized t-shirts as well as kid's clothes and baby-grows. The idea is about how are cultural is obsessed with weight and being skinny and the pressure people feel through contradictory advertising.

NIGHTSWIMMING

Here is a series of drawings from a couple nights out and drawn from facebook photos. Quick sketches and line drawings of poses, dances, moments and lots of drinks! Working on editing and collating into small perfect-bound book. Want it to be observational with a bit of humour and not too neat or heavy hitting.

DAISY

'Daisy is only 15'

Here is some things i'm currently working on. I love the marc jacobs 'daisy' advert: the pose, type, use of empty space and enlarged, pop-esque perfume bottle. I'm working on deconstructing it and repetition and the obvious connotations with Lolita.

I think painting over existing photography and images adds an interesting texture and layer. I'm working on collating the images into a zine/book work and surprisingly they all look really good just black and white.

'Delicious all white meat',

I happened to go to mcdonald's that day! Think the brown paper works and links to mcdonald's bags.

I don't usually use fine liner but this gives it a nice strong line that stands out. From here I'm also looking at the idea of newspaper cuttings and murder/rape victims found in fields half-clothed.

an oldie but a goody

'A distorted shadow, a parody of something, some fairytale figure in a red cloak'

This illustration is from my last project on dystopias that i found and actually really like!(shockhorror as an insecure artist!) It derived from a good old printer mistake; when two images were printed on the same side. However i think the red on the right frames the character and the grabbing hands motif add to the connotations of constriction, lack of freedom and touch in 'A Handmaid's Tale'.

Frame job

Here is an A2 screenprint with Alison from The Kills, Scarlet Johansson and Mclovin' layered up. Whilst scanning i played around with the framing, i like the idea that you can get lots of images from one and the detail under closer inspection.

I generally just love this photo. Its an ad for Zadig & Voltaire.I used it for an 'i ate civilisation' print as well,

McLovin'!

I finally got back into the  print room ! Here's just a simple line drawing print i did of McLovin' in different colours and on different papers. Also played around with printing on magazines and adverts of models and half-naked women.

Kate Moss' beau Jamie Hince of the kills looking happy.

Used him as i printed on alison so thought i'd do both!
